Live and Learn (Thana)

Carlos had just got home from a night of work he had made a decent amount and after the cut he had to pay still had a decent amount of money remaining. He stopped by liquor store and bought a six pack of beer on the way. Flopping on the couch and popping open a bottle he took a gulp from it. It had been awhile since he could have such delights he was fully enjoying it and relaxing. He was exhausted yet he knew that he would not be able to sleep for a couple hours yet. Life was hard yet he was getting through it he had made a really good friend who he sure was going to become something more shortly. Thinking in the next meeting he might just go all the way with him. Though he was not totally sure what kept holding him back he loved the man. Then there was the fact that he recently became the legal guardian of a sixteen year old girl which brought up it's own challenges though he felt that he could be putting his life together.

Thinking that she was asleep he finished the bottle. he then got up and prepared himself a midnight meal Knowing that he needed food more often then he could usually get it though that really didn't matter as long as he ate big meals a couple times a day. Though a lot of times he still was starving afterwards. Running his hand through his hair he grabbed a package of sausages and some eggs and toast moving to the store he began to cook them.

Red sat in the car, listening to her music on her phone. Her suitcase in the boot and her backpack next to her. This was it. She was moving back to Forks, her house was all ready she just had to wait a few days to move in. While she waited she was going to either crash at a motel or at Uncle Carlos's. This was going to be a good thing, or so she hoped.


The last few months had been hard, having to deal with her parents sudden death and keeping the company intact meant she had to leave school and focus on the business. She watched the familiar road and saw Carlos's house \'a0 it was a bit run down, and could use a little work and to her was more of a cabin. But unlike the mansions and houses she had been in this felt like home to her. As the taxi pulled up she looked at the driver. Was she really ready to move back. " Were here Ma'am. " the taxi driver said and Red nodded. " Give me a minute. " she said to him, using her card to pay for the fare before she took a few deep breaths and got out of the Taxi, grabbing her backpack and her suitcase that really was just a duffel bag. Red got out of the car and picked her bags up and swung them over her purple coloured shoulder.

Thana woke up from her daydream and looked around her as she heard Carlos come back in, she was on his couch. She looked up as she smelled food cooking, she wasn't hungry but it did wake her up from looking at her phone. " Still snacking at midnight and trying not to get caught? " she asked, sitting up. She hadn't been able to sleep and instead had stayed on her phone for the night.

Carlos ran his fingers through his hair that still was a little wet from the shower that he took after his show while he stood in front of the stove. He had briefly forgot that there was someone else in the house. Though when he heard a voice asking if he still thought that he could have midnight snacks without being ask. "Need food so got to eat I have a different body then you would expect. And shouldn't you be asleep" He asked rather bluntly but when he was hungry he learned that it was best just to leave him be though of course no one really knew that he put off eating during his breaks because the stage manager found it unsettling so when he came home a lot of times he was staving and had to cook something. There was the couple times when he ignored his hunger and actually passed our. It would be one side effect per say of being a shifter he had learned that the animal that he changed into was rather rare but he liked it.

Thana shrugged as he asked if she shouldn't be asleep, " Couldn't sleep. " She answered, and looked at him . " Grumpy ass hungry much?" Thana joked, somewhat truthfully.  " I forgot you guys ate as much as wolves, don't mind me. Thana said to Carlos, sitting up and looking at the photos on her phone. Really she had been thinking about her parents really, though she put in a hell of a brave face and never really saw them she missed them now more then ever.

Though Thana was grateful she had Carlos nothing could take the place of her parents. She hadn't seen them often for weeks at end, but she did miss them. And didn't want to take over the company not at fifteen. There was a difference between busy parents and no parents. A hell of a big difference.

Carlos grabbed a plate and plopped the sausages onto it he then went over and sat beside Thana. "Tell me what is really bothering you? i know you miss your parents. I sometimes miss mine even though they are alive however they don't want to talk to me since I left because I didn't really leave things in a positive way." He said before he plopped a piece of sausage into his mouth. Forcing a small smile something that he rarely did any more unless he was with Artemis then they came easily that was because he felt himself around him and not some broken boy he had been taught differently but sometimes he could not shake the past. He did miss his parents and he always would. What he did would eat him up inside if he left so he tried to forget it. He left them for the good of the pack. 

Thana's parents were dead and not coming back his would never want to see him again. was this what drew him to her in the first place? Or was it just the fact that she needed help. Sighing slightly as he waited to hear her answer. Carlos was just really not sure what he should do in this situation he tried to care for her as best as he knew how but frankly half the time he didn't know what to do.

Thana shrugged softly, " lots of things. Goin to a new a school, the company, me, plus everyone wants me to diivy up the assets. I know that my relationship with them was scarce at best, and to be honest mostly I don't miss them but I miss... Well I miss being somewhat normal." She answered, for once opening up. " And as for the sleeping I'm lucky if I can get more than an hour each night. Thanks for letting me crash the couch by the way, I'd rather be here then in a motel. But tomorrow I'll be out of your hair Carlos." Thana said, giving a rare smile back.

Thana didn't mind that Carlos didn't really know what to do, for the most part she was independant. She just needed a signature on papers until she was eighteen. When he spoke about not having a relationship and leaving she smiled sadly and sighed " Yeah I know about that.... I once went to Egypt for two months and they didnt notice." Thana said, curling up on the couch. She wasnt cold, but the hoodie she wore covered more then one scar.
